1.In a large bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, buttermilk, vinegar, sugar, and 1/4 tsp each salt and pepper. Add the coleslaw and chives and toss to combine. Refrigerate, tossing occasionally for 1 hour.

2. Combine the pork, onion, barbecue sauce, and 1/2 tsp each salt and pepper. Shape the mixture into six 1-inch thick patties.

3.Heat grill to medium. Grill the burgers until cooked through, 5 to 6 minutes per side. Serve on the buns with the slaw.


1 cup light mayonnaise 
3 tablespoons buttermilk, milk or sour cream 
1 tablespoons cider vinegar 
1/4 teaspoons sugar, salt and pepper 
4 cups bagged coleslaw mix 
2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives 
2 pounds ground pork 
1 small onion, grated 
1 cup barbecue sauce 
6 hamburger buns
